Yvonne Okoro advocates for better pay for players in local league

Actress Yvonne Okoro is advocating for better remuneration for players in the local league.

There has always been complaints by soccer players in the local league of the poor remuneration given to them by handlers of football teams in the country.

Speaking to Accra-based Asempa FM, the actress said “The Normalization Committee should ensure that players are paid well”.

“Since the Committee has been tasked to fix Ghana Football, I entreat the members to also pay attention to the issue and fix that as well,” the actress added.

She called for contracts of the players to be reviewed because good remunerations will better the local game and develop players for the country.

The Normalization Committee, whose mandate is expected to expire on March 31, 2019, will also act as an electoral committee whose decisions are final and binding, although its members will not be eligible for any of the open positions in the upcoming GFA elections under any circumstance.
