Aaron Sorkin wants a follow-up.
It was in a recent interview that Sorkin explained that he and producer Scott Rudin have had several conversations about a follow-up to their Oscar-winning film. “I’ve gotten more than one email from him with an article attached saying, ‘Isn’t it time for a sequel?”
“First of all, I know a lot more about Facebook in 2005 than I do in 2018 — but, I know enough to know that there should be a sequel,” Sorkin said, adding, “A lot of very interesting dramatic stuff has happened since the movie ends, with settling the lawsuit from the Winklevoss twins and Eduardo Saverin.”
Notably, Facebook has had to deal with the backlash that has come attached to the data breach involving millions of users in the European Union and political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica. The company has also had to face the app’s perceived role in the rapid transit of “fake news” in this day and age.
