Wife of Richard Lugner, Billionaire Who Died 2 Months After Their Wedding – His Sixth – Pens Heartfelt Tribute

Simone Reiländer, who tied the knot with Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner just over two months before his death, is paying tribute to her late husband.

Reiländer, 42, honored Lugner on Monday, Aug. 12, with a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a painting of the late entrepreneur, who died earlier that day at age 91.

“You were the dream of my life,” she wrote in a translated German language message. “And when I saw you shine at the sight of me, then I knew that I was yours too. In Love 🖤.”

The couple tied the knot at Vienna City Hall on Saturday, June 1, after getting engaged the previous year.

As he got married for the sixth time, the billionaire told reporters that it would also be his “last marriage,” according to local reports.

Lugner was a construction tycoon known for helping build the Lunger City shopping center in Vienna in 1990. He was also known for entertaining many celebrities at the Vienna Opera Ball over the years, including Kim Kardashian, Jane Fonda, Pamela Anderson and Goldie Hawn.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, the Vienna State Opera expressed its “sincere condolences” to his family.

The businessman was also remembered as a “beloved boss,” in a tribute posted on the shopping center’s Facebook page.

“We can hardly put into words the pain we feel,” the message read. “The grief is indescribably great, but we want to reflect on all the beautiful and great times together. With a laughing and a crying eye we say goodbye to the great Richard Lugner, in our hearts he will stay forever!”

He leaves behind four children from previous relationships: Jacqueline, Nadine, Alexander, and Andreas.

Before tying the knot for a sixth time, Lugner was previously married to Christine Gmeiner (​1961-1978), Cornelia Laufersweiler​​ (​1979-1983), Susanne Dietrich (1984-1989), Christina Lugner (1990-2007), as well as Playboy model and actress Cathy Schmitz (2014-2016).

In June, Lugner told German newspaper Bild that he and his Reiländer would “share” his shopping empire workload, but that “when I am no longer here, she will be the sole boss,” per The Independent.

He went on to share that his family members also remained involved in the business, saying “there is enough to do for everyone.”

Lugner, who most recently attended the Opera Ball in February with Priscilla Presley, had reportedly been dealing with multiple health problems and had undergone surgery in recent months, according to Agence France-Presse.

His official cause of death has not been revealed.
