What is the key to a healthy and enjoyable life? – Body is vehicle given to us by God to achieve success materially and spiritually. Healthy body play crucial role to achieve goals in our life. What is use of million dollars, if we not healthy. Our life should balanced in the all aspects . As a human we have five needs viz, PHYSICAL, SOCIAL, MENTAL (EMOTIONAL), INTELLECTUAL & SPIRITUAL.

This is five pillars of our life. In order to become really happy & to achieve perfection of human life, we should grow from all sides. People have some basic misconception. They think that to become wealthy is success of life, but we can clearly see there so many people who are rich, but suffering from some chronic diseases like diabetes. Due to which they can not eat sweets throughout their whole life. They can’t enjoy their own wealth. To become rich is not wrong, but to neglect other perspective of life is certainly wrong.

For example, if you are learning first year engineering & in your semester has six subjects. You studied and mastered only one subject out of six and got out of marks. Are you going to pass? Same thing happening with us. Our life is nothing but examination. We have given target of to become perfect in these five things. Even WHO defines health is “ a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

To become healthy, we should know the science of body. Body is made up of 5 elements[earth, water, fire, air and ether] and it is sustained by five elements. Our body has deep connection with mother nature. More we closer to nature more we are healthy and more we far away from her more we diseased. Although we are now at pick of modern advancement but our health in compare our ancestor is very poor.because in course of modern advancement we went far away from nature and our life become too much artificial.

This root cause of our all problem. Body basically needs 3 things as its energy source viz. Air,Water,Food. If we supply proper quality and quantity of these 3 things health is guaranteed. Our body need max quantity & quality of air than water & food. That’s why we can live without food & water for few days but not without air even for few minutes. People are unaware of this proportion. Generally people eat maximum food & puts overburden on digestive system.

Just like computor know only language of ‘zero’ & ‘one’, our body only know food of five kinds viz. earthly, watery, fiery, airy & eatheric. More the complex & processed food [like fast food, chinese,frozen,overcooked, baked etc.] is more the body finds difficulty to simplify and assimilate it. Our maximum bodily energy waste to digest and eliminate excessive foodstuff. Due to which we have contaminated our body by different kinds of toxins. Toxins are very detrimental to health. They must be removed timely. Following 10 things will surely help you to purify and rejuvenate your body.

1 Detoxification of Body:

Supplying maximum quantity of prana to body is a key of healthy life. Prana has power to detox and rejuvenate body. More the prana goes in your body more the healthy you becomes. Yoga, Pranayam and vegetarian raw foods remarkably improve pranic level of body. Try to eat simple, natural, raw foods like soaked sago, soaked ground nuts, fruits, vegetable, buttermilk,curd, dry fruits etc. This kind of diet is very rich in its pranic value or life force. For cooked food body take more time to digest, assimilate and eliminate, but for raw foods it take very less time and bodily organs esp. GI tract , liver, kidney get proper rest & their working quality improves remarkably.

Body eliminates toxin through three ways viz..stool, urine & sweat. Ayurveda recommends periodic cleansing of body especially by virechan (purgation) & steam bath. In beginning 7 days you should do pranayam ( Kapalbhati pranayam( minimum 5 min or 300 strokes), Anulom Vilom pranayam(5 min), 10 Surya namaskar) at early morning & evening. Along with yoga take only raw food, fruits with plenty of buttermilk. On 7th day take purgative to remove all toxins from body. It will cleanse your body completely.Once it is cleansed make change in your eating habit & life style as mentioned below.

2 Diet Time:

Fix time for food. Our body is not made to eat anything at anytime. This time needs to be in accordance with the timing of gastric secretion. Lunch time should be 9 am to 1 pm & dinner 5 pm to 8 pm. Dinner should be less in quantity than lunch. Avoid heavy food at night. In the night only a liquid is to be taken.

Any food should be consumed within 48 minutes of cooking. The body is best able to utilize the nutrition from food when it is consumed in this time frame. Maintain regulated timing of meal. Bodily clock get properly adjusted and you feel hungry at proper time. Avoid eating in between meals except water, juice. Drink water in the morning, buttermilk in noon and milk at night.

3 Physical labor:

Sedentary lifestyle is hazardous to health. Water in river is always fresh and rich in oxygen and water in small pond not fresh & of low quality because river water is always flowing. Same thing apply for blood, which may stagnated or flowing depending open our physical labor. Physical labor warm ups body and enhance blood circulation while sedentary life do opposite.

Physical labor should not be reduced till age of 60 yrs. Below 18 yrs children should labor via play. For adult of 18 to 60 yrs productive labor. 60 plus labor should go on decreasing. Geographical conditions should be considered to decide way of life. If your job is sedentary at least do regular Yoga-Asanas, Pranayam, Surya Namaskar, Exercise, Morning walk.

4 Water Drinking Rule:

Never drink water alone when you are hungry and never eat when you are thirsty. Reduce drinking water while taking meal, it helps to secrete saliva more. By nature’s arrangement saliva is alkaline & gastric juice is acidic in nature. Saliva helps to reduce acidity, burning sensation caused by gastric juice. Drinking water at the end of a meal is akin to drinking poison. It kills the our digestive fire, thereby making the food rot inside the system instead of getting digested. This in turn leads to excess acid and gas being produced in the system and a very vicious cycle starts.

The minimum gap between food and water should be between 1.5 to 2.5 hrs .Always drink water sip by sip like one drinks hot tea. Drinking water is first thing in the morning. It should be warm at body temp and should be sipped like hot tea so that max possible saliva goes into the stomach. Never drink cold water. Drinking cold water leads to decrease in blood supply to various organs. Over a period of time this leads to the weakening and hence failure of various organs and causes diseases like heart attack, kidney failure, brain hemorrhage etc. Drinking chilled water leads to severe constipation. Large intestine shrinks causing various other complications. This is applicable to other cold foods as well..

5 Opposite foods :

Some food are healthy when eaten alone, but when they mix with other food turn into poison. For example mixing sour substances with milk like milk shake ,Hot and cold foods like eating ice cream with hot chocolate fudge, Drinking cold fruit juices together with hot tea or coffee Eating uncooked or cooked food.

Milk is incompatible with – salty food, cooked food, Banana, Onion , meat, curd & sour fruits. Starches are incompatible with – milk, banana, and dates. Yogurt is incompatible with – pulses sour fruits, hot drinks, fish, meat, mangoes, and cheese. Lemon is incompatible with – Yogurt, milk, cucumber, and tomatoes. One should eat locally grown foods.Opposite food produce toxins in our body. They causes many diseases especially skin diseases

6 Rest after meal:

Body supply its maximum energy to stomach after meal especially blood supply. Immediately after meal If one engaged in any other active even like reading newspaper causes disturbance in digestion. Do not do any active work after meal . You can sit in vajrasana or you can take rest lying down on your left side after morning/noon meals. This is very important for digestive fire to work well since lying on left side activates the Pingala (Surya) nadi on the right side of the body and this in turn boost digestive power.This rest should be between 20 to 40 minutes. It’s OK to take a nap if one feels sleepy.

Many companies have researched and found that the productivity of employees who are allowed to rest after lunch increases by up to 300%. Never sleep after dinner for at least 2 hours. Sleeping soon after dinner will invite diseases like heart attack, diabetes, BP etc.Best is sitting in Vajrasana for at least 10 minutes after meals. This is the only asana allowed after food according to yoga.

7 Simple lifestyle :

“ Simple living and higher thinking ”. Simple lifestyle mean living according to nature’s law and accepting gifts given by nature without complicating it. Using pressure cooker, refrigerator, microwave, cold storage, non organic foods is totally against nature’s law. These thing reduce pranic level or life force of food.

Pressure cooker is very bad for health. While cooking in pressure cooker the grains get broken and thus become soft. This does not mean they are getting cooked.The molecules get damaged and hence the food becomes useless for the body.Diabetes, Bronchitis, TB, Asthma etc. 48 ailments have been directly traced to pressure cooker by modern scientists at CDRI/CSIR labs. Best utensils for cooking are clay, bronze and brass in that order. Researchers at the CDRI Lab in Lucknow India have found that after cooking “ Arhar daal(pulse) ” in Clay pots 100% of the micro-nutrients originally present in the “Arhar dal” are still there, 93% are left after cooking in bronze utensils and 87% after cooking in brass utensils. Whereas after cooking the same daal in a pressure cooker only 13% of these micro-nutrients are left. Essentially what is left is worthless and unusable by the body.

8 Be Mindful :

Always be mindful of doing any activity. Get absorbed in that activity. For example Do not listen music or watch TV while reading. Just focus on book. Concentration is key of success. Do one activity at one time. Avoid multitasking especially while eating. Most of the people watch TV or reads newspapers while eating. This causes overeating, less secretion of saliva and poor digestion.

Eat only when you feel hungry. Listen body signal and stop before stomach get full. Improper mastication causes overweight. Chew each morsel 32 time. It induce salivation and it give satisfaction of eating. Once you get feeling satisfaction, body won’t demand of eating fast food, junk food, ice cream etc.

9 Choosing Celibacy for a Few Months or More :

Shukra (semen) is seventh & most vital dhatu in body. Mind, Prana and semen are the three links of one chain. By controlling the mind, you can control Prana and semen. By controlling Prana you can control the mind and semen. By controlling semen, you can control the mind and Prana. If the semen is controlled, and if it is made to flow upwards into the brain by pure thoughts and the practice of Viparita Karani Mudras such as Sarvangasana and Sirsasana and Pranayama, the mind and the Prana are automatically controlled.

The preservation of semen is the secret of health and longevity, and of all success in the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual planes. He who has even a little bit of celibacy will tide over a crisis of any disease very easily. If it takes a month for an ordinary man for recovery, this man will be completely all right in a week.Practice of Brahmacharya gives good health, inner strength, peace of mind and long life. It invigorates the mind and the nerves. It helps to conserve physical and mental energy. It augments memory, will force and brain power. It bestows tremendous strength, vigour and vitality.

10 Deep Relaxation :

Action produces movement; movement causes habits. Man has acquired many artificial habits. He has allowed nature’s original habits to lapse. He has brought tension in many muscles and nerves through incorrect habit-positions. He has forgotten the first principles of relaxation. He will have to learn lessons from the cat, dog and the infant in the Science of Relaxation. If you practice relaxation, no energy will be wasted. You will be very active, and energetic. During relaxation the muscles and nerves are at rest. The Prana or energy is stored up and conserved. The vast majority of persons who have no comprehensive understanding of this beautiful science of relaxation simply waste their energy by creating unnecessary movements of muscles and by putting the muscles and nerves under great strain.

Relaxation refreshes a man completely. Those who practice relaxation will never experience fatigue. They close their eyes for a few minutes even while standing and get themselves ready for further work. Energy flows in their nerves when they relax just as water flows when the tap is opened. Relaxation is a very important factor in muscular exercises.During intense muscular activity, the metabolism is increased. Metabolism is the anabolic and catabolic changes that take place in the body (wear and tear in the system). The muscles that are put under severe strain demand relaxation and rest. It is Savasana that promptly and efficiently ensures complete relaxation and perfect ease.

Relaxation maintains emotional balance. emotional balance means to be free of all the neurotic behavior that results from the existence of a tortured and traumatized ego. This is very hard to achieve fully, but meditation certainly is the way to cure such neurosis and unhealthy emotional states. It Lowers Blood Pressure.A study at Harvard Medical School found that meditation lowered blood pressure by making the body less responsive to stress hormones. It has Anti-Inflammatory effect. Stress leads to inflammation, a state linked to heart disease, arthritis, asthma and skin conditions such as psoriasis. Relaxation can help prevent and treat such symptoms by switching off the stress response.
