Nana Prempeh Aduhene, Press Aid to the Omanhene of Sefwi-Wiawso has denied claims by the Western North Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, that his deputy, Alex Tetteh is undermining his authority and sabotaging him.
The accusation comes barely four months after they both assumed office.
Mr Gyedu petitioned the Local Government Minister over what he said was his deputy, Mr Tetteh’s disregard for his office in the newly created region.
In a four-page letter to the Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama, dated June 11, 2019, the minister enumerated several reasons why his deputy minister must be questioned.
Some of the reasons he outlined included the deputy regional minister convening a regional Security Council meeting without his knowledge, issuing security orders to counter his own orders and conniving with a chief to change the site for a Regional Coordinating Council office.
But, reacting to the allegations by the Regional Minister, the Press Aid described those allegations as unfortunate and far from the truth.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Wednesday, Nana Aduhene said the chief has no issues with the ministers and will never interfere in the work of the minister.
According to him, the chief works with both Regional Minister and his deputy and therefore has no means of destroying anyone’s work.
“The claims by the regional minister are very unfortunate. We want to state that there is nothing like connivance with any minister. Both minister and his deputy visit the chief in his palace and there is no way we could connive with one and leave the other,” he said.
Nana Prempeh said there would be a stakeholders meeting at the chief’s palace to find lasting solution to the issue.
