Amidst several accusations of war crimes by authoritative figures at the United Nations, Ukrainian officials have reported that Russian soldiers have become known to rape their underaged citizens and burn swastikas into the bodies of their dead victims. In a recent virtual discussion with the U.N., Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky informed pundits of the genocidal environment that the Russians have imposed upon his fellow citizens during the ongoing war, such as slashing their victims’ throats, pulling out their tongues, and more.
“[Russian soldiers] killed entire families —adults and children — and they tried to burn the bodies,” Zelensky said. “I am addressing you on behalf of the people who honor the memory of the deceased every single day…Some of them were shot on the streets, others were thrown into wells so they died there in suffering. They were killed in their apartments, their houses. Civilians were crushed by tanks while sitting in their cars in the middle of the road — just for their pleasure.”
President Zelensky capped off his virtual address by showing a horrific video compilation that outlined many of the instances that he referred to. But perhaps the most shocking revelation of all came from a People’s Deputy of Ukraine named, Lesia Vazylenko. The Ukrainian politician left nothing to the imagination as she dived even deeper into the devastation that Russian soldiers have caused with a shocking post on Twitter.
“Russian soldiers loot, rape and kill,” wrote Vazylenko. “10 y.o. girls with vaginal and rectal tears. Women with swastika-shaped burns. Russia. Russian Men did this. And Russian mothers raised them. A nation of immoral criminals.”
In a separate post on Twitter, the Ukrainian politician also shared a disturbing image of a swastika that she claims had been burned onto the body of a Ukrainian by a Russian soldier.
Russia continues to deny reports that they have been mistreating Ukrainian citizens, despite the mounting evidence that suggests the contrary. For more information regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine, stay tuned.
