“They’re so in love and very, very happy together,” a source tells PEOPLE exclusively as the Chiefs star reports to training camp
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s whirlwind summer is coming to a close.
As Kelce, 34, reports back to Missouri for training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs after a summer of work and travel with Swift, also 34, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively that the tight end wanted to spend every moment with his superstar girlfriend before turning his focus back to football.
“Travis’ last few concerts were bittersweet,” the insider shares of Kelce’s trip to see Swift in Germany on the Eras Tour.
“They knew their time together like this was coming to an end and he made sure to spend every minute he could with Taylor,” the insider adds.
Swift and Kelce’s demanding schedules often force them to be in different cities, but the source says the “Fortnight” singer and the NFL star take any opportunity to spend time together as their relationship nears the one-year mark.
“It’s definitely tough to be apart but they do everything they can to make it work and show up for each other,” the source shares. “They’re so in love and very, very happy together. All their friends and family can see it.”

Kelce — who also spent his off season shooting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity and Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series Grotesquerie — “is back in football mode,” adds another insider. “His team and the Chiefs remain a top priority.”
The Chiefs are holding their open practices during training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. On Aug. 15, they’ll play their first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars before the regular season begins on Sept. 5.
When Kelce and his teammates returned to training camp on July 21, the tight end debuted a fresh new look for the start of the football season. In a post from the Chiefs on Instagram, the team highlighted Kelce’s new mustache look and wrote, “KILLA STACHE IS BACK 👨🏻.”
