The sports star channeled his inner country star with a very Billy Ray Cyrus-esque look for his latest FX role
Travis Kelce is breaking achy breaky hearts with his new hairstyle!
On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, was seen stepping into character for FX’s latest horror fiction, Grotesquerie.
“Nothing is what it seems,” the Instagram caption began on the show’s official account. However, a line was scratched through the sentence, and a new one followed: “𝙽𝚘 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚠𝚑𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚜𝚎𝚎𝚖.”

“Episode 7 of FX’s Grotesquerie is now streaming on Hulu,” the caption concluded.
In the clip, Kelce, who plays nurse Ed Laclan on the Ryan Murphy co-created series, appears as his normal self with his signature buzz cut, worthy of being a candidate for PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive.
As the NFL star smiles while checking his outfit on camera, he then covers the lens to reveal a quite interesting transformation — and a mullet!
In addition to a hairstyle fit for the country singer, 63, in the early ‘90s, Kelce also rounded out his look with a brown leather bomber jacket worn over a plaid button-down shirt for some serious lumberjack vibes, topping off his look with a pair of blue denim jeans.
The three-time Super Bowl winner made his Grotesquerie debut in episode three opposite Niecy Nash-Betts (Det. Lois Tryon) and Monster’s Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Father Charlie Mayhew).
“A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. ‘Detective Lois Tryon’ feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone — or something — is taunting her,” a synopsis of the 10-episode drama reads.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy, 58, confirmed a fan theory that eagle-eyed Taylor Swift fans couldn’t help but notice after Kelce’s debut on the series.
Murphy admitted to the outlet that the scene where Kelce and Nash-Betts escape a hospital and ride off in a getaway car is “a little Taylor Swift nod” after the pop star and the sports star went public with their romance last October. The 14-time Grammy winner, 34, has a song titled “Getaway Car” on her 2017 album Reputation.
And while Kelce may be modeling a mullet for his latest role, his new, real-life style has also been a hot topic as of late.
