It’s been just over three years since Nipsey Hussle was gunned down near his famous Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles. Since then, the iconic rapper’s legacy has grown exponentially due to a concentrated effort from his contemporaries in rap, his business associates, his friends, and his immediate family members, to keep his name alive. On Friday, Neighborhood Nip’s company, TMC, released a new documentary that shines a light on one of his last business ventures with his brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, before his untimely passing.
“This is something we always spoke about,” Blacc Sam said. “Nipsey, Fatts, Adam, and I had a goal to get a legitimate licensed store and have our brand in other stores across the state. We’re so honored to be able to fulfill the dream.”
The Marathon Cultivation Documentary gives fans of the late rapper a behind-the-scenes look at the way in which two brothers from the Crenshaw District in South Los Angeles built a successful cannabis empire. Not only does the film feature an appearance from Nipsey Hussle’s close friend, Snoop Dogg, but it will also serve as a prelude to the upcoming grand opening of the new Marathon (Collective) retail/cannibus-store, which was a long term goal that was shared amongst Nipsey Hussle and his business partners.
