German second-tier side VfL Bochum have handed Ghanaian youngster Maxwell Gyamfi a professional contract.
The 19-year-old, who has been at the club since 2017, has extended his stay at the club to 2020.
Last season, Gyamfi scored one goal in 32 competitive matches.
“We are delighted that the next young player from the talent factory in Maxwell is taking the first steps in professional football at VfL,” Sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz said.
This shows that we focus on our own training and introduce our junior staff to our licensed team as early as possible. We are convinced that VfL is the right club for Maxwell’s further development.
”Maxwell Gyamfi is variable in the defensive, he can be used in the position of the center-back, right defender and defensive midfielder.
”His development has been positive in the last few weeks, so we want to keep watching him. ”
