Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have shown strong support for Jason Kelce after he was involved in a tense confrontation at a college football game, where he chucked a fan’s phone to the ground following a homophobic remark directed at his brother.
The altercation unfolded Saturday at Penn State, where Jason was present as a guest analyst for ESPN’s “College GameDay” coverage. In a video that has since circulated widely, a fan can be heard shouting, “Hey Kelce! How does it feel your brother is a f-ggot for dating Taylor Swift?” The homophobic comment clearly struck a nerve with Jason, who stopped in his tracks, turned to confront the individual, and seized the fan’s phone, slamming it to the ground.
Taylor Swift, who has been publicly dating Travis Kelce since last fall, reacted privately to the incident with a sense of pride and appreciation.
A source close to the couple told DailyMail, ‘Taylor and Travis were both really shocked by this, considering Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world. It really became clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means the world to him.”
“The use of the word f-ggot is not okay with him nor anyone,” the source added. “This fan crossed the line. Jason will never stand for anyone insulting his family, and he views Taylor as family now.”
Jason Kelce has not yet commented on the incident.

Many applauded the retired NFL player for his unwavering support and quick defense of his brother, with fans taking to social media to express admiration for his loyalty and willingness to take a stand.
“Good for Jason,” one X user said. “That guy is a loser.”
“Kudos to Jason Kelce,” another wrote in a social media post. “He isn’t somebody u want to mess with, especially when you bad-mouthing his brother.”
Plus, Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City, wrote on X, “I shouldn’t say, but whatever. I appreciate Jason Kelce standing up for his family.”
Born just two years apart—Jason in 1987 and Travis in 1989—the Kelce brothers grew up in Ohio, becoming each other’s biggest supporters and occasional rivals from a young age.
The Kelce brothers also co-host a popular podcast, “New Heights,” where they share personal stories, discuss sports news, and playfully poke fun at each other. Through the podcast, fans get an intimate view of their relationship, marked by a mix of friendly rivalry and unwavering support.
Jason Kelce has been publicly supportive of his brother’s relationship with Taylor Swift. From teasing Travis about dating one of the world’s biggest pop stars to openly discussing their relationship on his and Travis’s podcast, “New Heights,” Jason has embraced the spotlight that comes with his brother’s high-profile romance.
Speaking of their podcast, Jason and Travis Kelce recently capitalized on its success, having signed a major deal with Amazon’s Wondery. Valued at over $100 million, this partnership is a significant milestone in podcasting, set to expand the reach of the Kelce brothers’ distinctive sports commentary and personal insights to an even broader audience.
Beyond their podcast, Travis and Jason Kelce have ventured into the world of breakfast by creating a unique cereal mash-up that combines not one, not two, but three classic favorites—Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Reese’s Puffs.
“I’ve said that I’d eat a whole box of Reese’s Puffs cereal in one sitting, and while I stand by that, our creation might just be the new MVP of the cereal aisle,” Travis said in a statement provided to The New York Post. “We’d go through two to three boxes of our favorite cereals a week when we were growing up, so being able to team up with General Mills now is a full circle moment for us.”
Jason Kelce’s upcoming public appearance is scheduled for Monday night in Kansas City, where he’ll be part of ESPN’s broadcast team covering the Chiefs’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
