The singer’s music had over 26.6 billion streams globally in 2024
Taylor Swift continues to dominate Spotify in the streamer’s 2024 Wrapped.
On Wednesday, Dec. 4, the streaming platform revealed that the 14-time Grammy winner was the most-streamed artist globally for the second year in a row. Swift, 34, had more than 26.6 billion streams, followed by The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish in the top five.
To celebrate Swift’s achievement, Spotify added a Wrapped badge to her Spotify profile — the first time the streamer made this distinction. There will also be an easter egg experience rolling out, where Swifties can encounter some unique surprises in the app.
While streaming her music, fans will also find a custom mini animation designed for each era of her discography on the Spotify Play Button.
Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which dropped in April in the middle of her Eras Tour, was the most-streamed album of 2024. Following TTPD, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT by Eilish, Short n’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter, MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO by KAROL G and eternal sunshine by Ariana Grande made up the top five albums of 2024.
The “Lavender Haze” singer managed to grace the most-streamed albums list three times with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Lover joining her latest album.
Despite being the top artist and having the top album globally, Swift didn’t have the No. 1 song. The most streamed song on Spotify in 2024 was Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.” In the No. 2-5 slots, respectively, are “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” by Eilish, “Gata Only” by FloyyMenor and Cris Mj and “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims.
“Cruel Summer,” from Swift’s 2019 album Lover did make the cut for the top 10 most-streamed songs globally at No. 9.
This major accomplishment comes hot off the heels of Swift being named both Amazon Music and Apple Music’s top artist of 2024 while also have the top album on the respective platforms.
“Ahhhhhh thank you for listening to my music and TTPD so much!!!!! You, the fans, made The Tortured Poets Department the TOP STREAMED ALBUM of The Year on @applemusic!!!” Swift wrote on her Instagram Stories in response. “You guys snagged me that Top Streamed Artist spot too.”
