Taylor Swift is back on the road with her Eras tour as boyfriend Travis Kelce gets ready for another Super Bowl appearance on Sunday.
The singer-songwriter, 34, kicked off the Tokyo leg of her ongoing world tour on Wednesday, giving fans a striking performance at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
In pictures from the concert, Swift was dressed in her signature sparkly pink rhinestone leotard as she held onto the microphone and flashed a beaming smile at the crowd.
She also sported her fringed mini dress while playing her guitar, as well as a one-legged black body suit that was dazzled with red snakes.
“I’ve been working on Tortured Poets since right after I turned in Midnights,” Swift told the crowd on Wednesday in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter).
She added, “I’ve been working on it for about two years, I kept working on it throughout the U.S. tour and when it was perfect — in my opinion when it’s good enough for you — I finished it and I am so so excited that soon you’ll get to hear it.”
Swift announced on Sunday that she would be releasing her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. She revealed the news during her acceptance speech for best pop vocal album for Midnights, which marked her 13th Grammy award. (She has a total of 14 wins as of the 2024 ceremony.)
The musician went on to say at her Tokyo show that she was “over the moon” that her fans love her music, adding that “everyone’s like, ‘Why do you make so many albums?’ I’m like, ‘Man, because I love it! I love it so much!’ ”
“The recording academy decided to give Midnights album of the year,” Swift continued. “I just cannot believe you, I cannot thank you enough. This is just the craziest, most joyful experience and then getting to come here and then get to thank you and see you right after that happened, I’m in a really good mood.”
Swift is slated to perform four consecutive nights in Tokyo, from Feb. 7 to Feb. 10 — finishing just before Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11th.
Kelce’s team Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas following their 17-10 win against the Baltimore Ravens during the AFC Championship game on Jan. 28.
Meanwhile, the end of the AFC Championship game saw Swift join her man on the field, leading to the two sharing a celebratory kiss.
