Snoop Dogg has become arguably America’s most beloved pitchman and spokesperson, much to the curiosity of some of his peers. The Death Row owner and longtime Laker superfan is taking his love of hoops to another level thanks to his relationship with his Mt. Westmore group mate Ice Cube.
According to TMZ Hip Hop, Snoop, along with PayPal co-founder Ken Howery, spent $625,000 to purchase an ownership stake in the Bivouac, a BIG3 team which went winless during its 2021 campaign due to injuries. Cube took to Twitter on April 23 to tease the announcement of Snoop’s desire to become an owner of more than one team and urged others to join in on the expansion of his basketball league and Snoop followed through on his desire.
“I’m in here with the big Snoop D-O-Double-G,” Cube said backstage with Snoop. “It’s that BIG3 owner shit, goin’ down. You heard it from the Dogg’s mouth, man. Get you a team, stop trippin’, stop playin’ with us.”

Snoop and Howery made their purchase through NFTs, a field Snoop has dove heavily into in recent months, mainly with his acquisition of the Death Row Records brand and his desire to make it the first NFT only label. In the process, several classic Death Row Records were pulled from streaming platforms, prompting fans to be vocal about their displeasure with the move.
While his BIG3 ownership run will begin when the new season kicks off on June 18, those close to the Death Row family have saluted his evolution from being on the label to owning the brand outright. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, The D.O.C. remarked about Snoop’s endeavors and why it’s a good thing for Hip Hop.
“I’m proud of Snoop and everything he’s accomplished and all the things that he’s going to do,” he says. “And every moment of his adult life, he is still showing me what it means to be a great guy and great human being. The guy is fucking everywhere [laughs]. I mean, he’s in the grocery store, he’s on the billboards, on my freeways — he’s everywhere.”
