Nigerian singer Simisola Ogunleye, simply known as Simi has called for protection of vulnerable people notably women and children by the society.

Over the last couple of weeks, the number of rape allegations and physical abuse cases that have sprung up in Nigeria is very alarming with the most recent one being the Senator Elisha Abbo who was caught on camera beating up a lady in a sex shop.

Singer Simi has used her social media page as a platform to call on society to protect women and children as they are the most vulnerable group in society and most often the victims of such abuse.

She noted that women and children are not safe in Nigeria because of oppression and abuse as well as inability of family members and religious bodies to make people accountable for their actions.

She then cautioned perpetrators of these acts to beware because their day of reckoning will come soon.
