Simi slams Pastor Chris for saying ‘husband means master’

Many Nigerians, including celebrities, have accused founder of Chris Embassy Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of male chauvinism after he said in a sermon that women should see their husbands as masters and not partners.

“Do you know the meaning of husband? Do you thing husband means the male partner in a marriage? Husband means master, not the male partner in a marriage,” Oyakhilome said in his message to his congregants.

But reacting to the above comments, singer Simisola Ogunleye popularly known by her stage name Simi, pilloried the renowned man of God for misogynistic message.

According to the 31-year-old musician, a husband commands respect naturally by being a loving, selfless, truthful and not necessarily by being seen as a master by his wife.

“Cos the way I fucking see it, a real man commands respect by being good, kind, true, selfless, having a good heart, ” she tweeted.

“Any1 can call him/herself a leader, but true leaders serve and are selfless. Talking about Jesus. Did you even read about the Jesus you’re talking about? Lol. Jokes.

“Qst is – why you so desperate for another human being to see you as master? Is it a complex? Are u worried u’re not enough to earn respect without Paul and co? Are you scared that if there was no bible, you really have nothing else to offer? Tell me.”
