Twain, who is hosting the awards show, collaborated with Levi’s on a custom two-piece denim gown and matching gloves covered in crystals
Shania Twain is goin’ out tonight, and she’s looking fabulous while she does it!
The country music icon, 59, walked the red carpet at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards wearing country queen staple — denim and diamonds! And her look was totally custom thanks to a collaboration between her stylist Greer Heavrin and Levi’s!
Twain glittered down the carpet in a bespoke two-piece denim gown by Levi’s featuring an oversize collar (a nod to Levi’s iconic Western pointed-collar and Americana roots) and a splattering of crystals and rhinestones. She teamed the design with matching blinged out denim gloves and a huge blue ring with a diamond halo worn on her pinky.
“The final two-piece custom denim gown and gloves were all hand measured, cut, stitched, and crystallized specially for Shania Twain to create a stand out red carpet moment,” Levi’s shared in a statement.
Levi’s referenced “pieces from historic custom looks throughout the years to create the full-length denim skirt, fit right at the waist for a modern interpretation of the classic mermaid skirt.”
As for Twain’s beauty moment she also looked to the past. The icon did not hold back on the glam giving retro vibes with her flippy blonde bob teamed with a smoky makeup look.
Twain is pulling double-duty as both the show’s host and a nominee in the concert tour of 2024 category where her Shania Twain: Come On Over – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits! is nominated alongside headlining tours from Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Morgan Wallen, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and the night’s most-nominated artist, Zach Bryan. But for the “Giddy Up!” singer, being asked to host the show may be the biggest honor of all.
“I’m out to feel my best and to feel great in what I’m wearing, so I plan on being glamorous,” she told PEOPLE ahead of the event. “I love bringing glamour to country. It’s great to refresh it because it was way more glamorous when I was a kid. It was very common for the men in my grandparents country music to wear crystal and bejeweled pants, for example. That’s gone away for a long time. I think it’s time for country to get a little more glamorous again, so that’s my plan.” (And she definitely delivered!)
In an interview shared by Billboard on Monday, Sept. 23, the country star revealed she’s looking to veteran awards show host Reba McEntire — who previously hosted the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards — as inspiration as she leads the evening’s show.
“Any of those big shows rely a lot on the spirit and the mood of the host, because the hosts are chosen, I think quite carefully, making sure people are relating and the host has experience,” she told the outlet.
Twain continued, “Reba is one of my favorite hosts. She’s speaking from experience and I think that commands respect and attention. She’s funny and smart, and is loved by all, and it’s a compliment to be asked to do something like [hosting an awards show].”
In addition to keeping the show moving along, Twain is also bringing her risk-taking fashion sense to the stage. Over the last few months, the “Still the One I Want” singer has been experimenting with different hairstyles — including a pink wig that made her feel more confident about going all-gray one day.
“The pink surprisingly made me look and feel younger somehow and it’s so light, it’s practically gray. So that was a really good surprise,” she told Extra in May.
She added, “Of course I can color my hair, but what I wanted to get used to was ‘what do I look like with my hair going lighter and lighter and lighter?’ ”
