Serena Williams pokes fun at ‘Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’ at ESPYs as Travis Kelce misses ceremony

Serena Williams roasted Travis Kelce while hosting the 2024 ESPYs.

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” the tennis champion told the star-studded crowd during her opening monologue at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles Thursday night.

She then went for the zinger, adding, “This year, Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend won a Super Bowl.”

Williams, 42, then proceeded to call the couple out for allegedly spending big money on their relationship.

“Travis and Taylor reportedly spent $100,000 a day on their romance. That’s a lot of money. That’s what I’ve been told Jaylen Brown spends on his beard,” she joked of the Boston Celtics shooting guard.

“It’s very shiny. I like it though,” she added, laughing.

Kelce and the “Fortnight” singer were both noticeably absent from this year’s annual event.

While Swift has been gearing up for her upcoming Eras Tour concert in Milan, Italy, this Saturday, Kelce was seen partaking in a karaoke competition at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament in South Lake Tahoe, Nev.

The NFL player won the competition after performing “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnakes, and gave Swift a shout-out after accepting his massive trophy.

“Taylor, this one’s for you!” he told the crowd.

Meanwhile, also present at the 2024 ESPYs was Williams’ close friend Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, who was there to accept the Pat Tillman Award For Service.

And Kelce wasn’t the only athlete Williams went after in her light-hearted intro — she also savagely poked fun at LeBron James.

Williams said “another memorable moment in sports this year” was when James’ son, Bronny, was drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers, making them the first father-son duo in history to play for the same NBA team.

“I truly hope that Bronny has a long career, so long that we see his hairline recede and then miraculously un-recede like dad,” Williams razzed.

Williams also briefly stepped outside of making fun of the sports world to throw a diss at Drake.

“If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us, not a single one of us, not even me, should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar,” she said, referring to the rappers’ feud this year.

“He will make your hometown not like you,” she continued, referring to Drake’s Canadian background. “The next time Drake sits courtside at a [Toronto] Raptors game, they’re going to ‘Forrest Gump’ him. ‘Seat’s taken.’”

The “One Dance” artist, who is an ambassador to the Raptors, has been beefing with Lamar after they both hurled insults at each other in competing diss tracks earlier this year.
