Selena Gomez was brought to tears on the Oct. 11 episode of “The Graham Norton Show” when she heard how she inspired actor and comedian Miranda Hart to open up about her struggles with Lyme disease.
In her autobiography, “I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You,” Hart talked about what it’s like to have Lyme disease, a bacterial infection that’s spread through infected ticks.
When Hart appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” alongside Gomez, she took the time to thank Gomez for being so candid about her life and health struggles in the singer’s Apple TV+ documentary, “My Mind & Me.”
In “My Mind & Me,” Gomez gave her fans an inside look into her life living with lupus and bipolar disorder.
While addressing Gomez and fellow guests Ncuti Gatwa and Zoe Saldaña on the show, Hart said, “It’s extraordinary that I’m on the show with Selena, because it makes me quite emotional because when I saw your documentary on Apple about your illness struggles, I was thinking, do I share? Is this something I should do? Because it feels quite vulnerable sharing something that I’ve never done before.”
“And I watched your documentary, and I just thought absolutely yes, and that’s what kept me writing,” she added.
After hearing those thoughtful words, Gomez immediately began tearing up. Hart then grabbed Gomez’s hand and said, “Honestly, it’s extraordinary.”
Online, fans said they were touched by the heartwarming moment.
“😦What a beautiful heartwarming occurrence that isn’t seen often on a stage. ❤️Thank you for the wonderful example of gracious kindness❤️,” one person wrote on YouTube.
Another said, “OK I kinda want Selena and Miranda to work together now 😁.”
