Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Celebrates Daughter’s 18th Birthday in New Post After Wiping His Instagram Account Clean
Combs deleted his Instagram posts in June, a month after a 2016 video of his ex-girlfriend being assaulted by him leaked
Sean “Diddy” Combs has returned to Instagram, a month after deleting all of his posts on the social media platform amid his ongoing legal drama.
On Saturday, July 20, the music mogul, 54, shared his first new post to Instagram since wiping his Instagram account clean on June 22.
In the post, Combs celebrated his daughter Chance’s 18th birthday. “My babygirl turned 18 today,” he wrote in the caption, alongside a photo of his daughter posing on a beach, as well as a throwback to when she was a kid, sleeping alongside Combs. “I’m so proud of you Chance. I love you. @myfancychance 🖤🙏🏿💫⚡️✨.”

Combs previously wiped his account in June, a month after he came under fire following the May release of a 2016 security camera video that showed him physically abusing ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway.
At the time, he deleted all of his posts, including a video of him apologizing to Ventura. In the post, Combs admitted to being “disgusted” by his actions, stating, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that.”
“I was f—ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable,” he continued. “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”
A source close to Diddy told PEOPLE that his decision to delete everything from his Instagram account was “not a strategic decision.”
“Mr. Combs has done this before, wiping his social media many times,” the source added. “The only reason this is being picked up is because all eyes are on him currently. His statements have been widely covered by the media globally. It doesn’t take away from the statements that he made, and it also wasn’t directed at or about anybody.”
In 2023, Ventura sued Combs in a now-settled lawsuit, alleging that the he sex trafficked, abused and raped her over a 10-year period. Combs denied her allegations, with his attorney calling them “offensive and outrageous.”
