Renée Rapp Just Recreated One of Regina George’s Most Iconic Looks at the ‘Mean Girls’ Premiere

It’s not Renée Rapp’s fault we’re, like, in love with her Mean Girls premiere look, but the star showed up and out on the pink red carpet (and it wasn’t even Wednesday). On Monday, the star attended the premiere of the remake (which hits theaters on Friday) in a look that subtly paid homage to her character Regina George most iconic looks.

Rapp’s Christian Siriano black satin blazer and blush lace-up corset look (from the label’s Spring Summer 2024 collection) paid homage to the character’s spring fling look, which included a strapless pink dress and a metal back and neck brace (which was courtesy of the film’s infamous bus incident). Rapp paired her top with a matching skirt with a thigh-high slit and a train. She paired the look with black pointed-toe pumps and chunky silver earrings and a smattering of matching rings. Her blonde hair was styled in a layered wolf cut with forehead fringe, and her glam included a cool-girl, smoked-out bottom liner look.

During the photo call, Rapp met up with rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who collaborated with Rapp on their new song “It’s Not My Fault.” The two posed cheekily in front of the flashing cameras with Meg blowing a kiss while Renée stuck out her tongue. For her part, Meg wore a purple iridescent gown with neckline that plunged past her belly button.

Rapp also posed for photos alongside her fellow cast members, including The Summer I Turned Pretty star Christopher Briney (Aaron Samuels) and Angourie Rice, who plays leading lady Cady Heron. In a separate shot, she stood with producers Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the actress and singer opened up about her approach to playing the iconic character, which was originated by Rachel McAdams (Rapp also played the part in the Broadway version).

“I’m a serial flirt,” she explained. “So, I’m flirting with everybody, especially the girls, right? I have a bitchy attitude, so I’m going to be bitchy. I also am very dry, so she’s going to be dry.”
