New Dr. Dre Song ‘Get It’ Surfaces Online: Listen
New song by Dr. Dre called ‘Get It’ has surface online.
The song in question is reportedly from the Detox era and has been unveiled by journalist Chad Kiser. Interestingly, 50 Cent rapped over the same beat for a freestyle called ’50 For President’ which was released to build up hype for his fourth studio album Before I Self Destruct. Towards the end of that freestyle which you can hear below, 50 mentioned that he was in the studio at the time with Dr. Dre and Eminem.
Therefore, there is speculation that 50 is the one who wrote the newly surfaced track for Dr. Dre and we definitely see it as a possibility. It is produced by Jake One, as confirmed by him on Twitter. You can listen to the Dr. Dre version of the track below.
In an exclusive interview with HHNM, Dre’s close collaborator Mark Batson talked about why the mythical album Detox has not come out. “At the end of the day, I recorded over 200 tracks at least for Detox. I pitched him a variety of tracks and he even selected a few to create songs to. At some point, he realized he didn’t like the direction he was going in, and decided not to release it,” said Mark. “Dre would cut what I would think were whole albums for Detox, listen to them for six months and then describe it with that word: ‘Ehhh’,” he continued.
