NDC’s Delali Brempong to appear before Comission of Inquiry Wednesday

Kasapafmonline.com can authoritatively state that the National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election, Delali Kwesi Brempong, will on Wednesday appear before the Justice Emile Short Commission of Inquiry probing the violence that characterized that election.

This follows an invitation he received from the Commission over the weekend asking him to appear and testify.

Mr. Brempong, a Pharmacist by Profession had earlier in an exclusive interview with Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa News expressed interest to appear before the Commission.

Violence erupted at the Bawaleshie Park area during the election resulting in six persons sustaining gunshot wounds. Six others have also been arrested with several others being brutalized by armed masked men reportedly from the National Security.

But Mr Brempong disputed claims by the National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah that the gunshots fired at LA Bawaleshie on that day came from his house.

He added that the Minister for National Security’s claims are untrue and clearly an afterthought.

“There were no gunshots from my house and there cannot be gunshots from a pharmacist’s house. Somebody who has taken an oath to protect lives, I think clearly, it is an afterthought. If anyone says there were gunshots from my house then I think the person is dreaming or hallucinating.

The three-member Commission of Inquiry set up by president Akufo-Addo has a month to complete its public hearings.
