The supermodel has had a daughter and a son via surrogate.
Naomi Campbell is opening up about how life changed once she became a mom after 50.
The supermodel has two children, a daughter and a son, both of whom she welcomed via surrogate. She has never publicly disclosed their names.
“My babies are everything to me,” Campbell, 54, said in an interview with The Sunday Times published over the weekend.
“It’s made me fear for the future,” she said. “I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 percent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school.”
Campbell loves being a mother so much, she expressed worry that women in the younger generation might not feel the same.
“I have heard a lot of young girls saying that it is too expensive to have children and they may not want them, and I have said, ‘You will change your mind. You will want to be a mum,’” she said. “I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work. It’s worth it. It is so amazing.”
Campbell welcomed her daughter in May 2021, and her son last June. She opened up about becoming a parent for the first time in an interview with British Vogue in February 2022.
“I always knew that one day I would be a mother, but it’s the biggest joy I could ever imagine,” she said at the time. “I’m lucky to have her and I know that.”
She’d told Vogue Arabia in 2018 that she would “love to have kids” when the time was right.
“I love kids and always will,” Campbell said. “When I’m around children, I become a child myself. That’s the little girl I don’t ever want to lose.”
