Becca, first came into the limelight almost as a contestant of then hit singing competition, Mentor. But she however turned down the opportunity after qualifying into the final 12 due to certain misunderstandings between her management and the organizers of the show.

In an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo Drive’, she acknowledged that, the incident opened so many doors for her but denied claims of the misunderstanding being staged for her benefit.

“It helped me a lot and I always thank God for that. Everything happened because it was meant to. It was not planned at all. I was a young girl who stood for what I believed in”, she told DJ Advicer.

According to her, that incident made people realize the sort of person she was and how passionate she was about her music.

Call it a publicity stunt or whatever but Becca has been able to vindicate her talent and is today one of the most celebrated artistes in Ghana.
