Megan Thee Stallion and her fans are like one big family!
In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the rapper, 29, opens up about her first headlining concert tour, the Hot Girl Summer Tour, and how she felt love from her supporters each night while putting on a show.
“I know people support me, but to go see it every night was a different feeling. [And to see] how packed those arenas were, to see that a lot of my show were 100% sold out, I’m like, ‘Wow,’ ” says Megan.
“Everybody was in there dancing, twerking and singing all the songs, word for word. Everybody had a really good time, including me. My fans, we’re like a bunch of cousins getting together at an outing,” the Grammy winner adds.
Megan’s Hot Girl Summer Tour began on May 14 in Minneapolis and concluded in August in Chicago.
GloRilla served as the opening act for the North American leg, while Ms Banks took on the gig for the European leg.
While the “Savage” singer says she would “definitely” tour again soon, she notes that she is currently “resting,” given all the physical work she had to do while performing.
“Literally, I was in a squat position for 90 minutes every single day,” Megan says with a laugh. “The cardio was real.”
Megan — who recently unveiled her new partnership with Pepsi — is now gearing up for her upcoming gig as host of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards — which she says is “going to be so iconic.”
The MTV VMAs air live on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
