LIZZO ASKS FANS TO BRING POSTERS OF HER BOYFRIEND TO SHOWS INSTEAD OF CHRIS EVANS
Lizzo has declared herself a one-man woman — and dropped a hilarious PSA to her fans about how they need to comport themselves accordingly going forward.
Taking to her Instagram on Friday (May 19), the plus-sized superstar paused her concert to thank the fans in the audience for bringing posters of her current boyfriend, actor Myke Wright.
She then recounted how she had to check some of her fans at a previous show because they kept bringing posters of Captain America actor Chris Evans.
“Chris Evans is not my man,” she said. “My man is [Myke Wright]. He fine as hell. I wanna see his fine ass face when I’m onstage.”
She then captioned the video, “PLEASE don’t keep bringing giant pics of my man I don’t have enough storage [laughing face emoji] Thank you Rene & Lucy!”
The Chris Evans references do have a bit of history in Lizzo’s world, however.
Back in 2021, she DM’ed the wholesome Marvel actor. In a TikTok video uploaded to Lizzo’s account titled “Don’t Drink & DM,” the Grammy Award-winning artist admitted she slid into Evans’ Instagram messages after a little bit too much to drink and maybeeeeee flirted with him.
“The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him,” she said. “And honestly, it hurts me to the core, because damn, papa, he a rare breed! No comparing!”
Chris Evans evidently caught wind of the clip and returned Lizzo’s message much to her surprise. On Sunday (April 18), the “Truth Hurts” chanteuse updated her 14.6 million TikTok followers and revealed Evans was nothing but kind about her late-night faux pas. After following her back on Instagram, he wrote, “No shame in a drunk DM. God knows I’ve done worse on this app.”
Lizzo hasn’t been shy about her crush on Chris Evans. In 2019, the Avengers star retweeted a post from Lizzo, who’d shared a video of a little girl showing off some impressive dance moves to her hit song “Juice.” He tweeted along with the video, “This kid is cooler than I could ever hope to be,” to which Lizzo replied, “Wow marry me.”
