Lisa Bonet Officially Filed For Divorce From Jason Momoa
Back in 2020, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet shocked fans when they announced that they would be separating. Today, Bonet made things official, filing for divorce and listing the couple’s date of separation as Oct. 7, 2020. In court documents that were obtained by People, Bonet cited irreconcilable differences as the reason to dissolve their marriage. The two married on Oct. 7, 2017 — after dating since 2005 — and share two children: daughter Lola, 16, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 15. Bonet also has a daughter, Zoë Kravitz, with her ex, Lenny Kravitz.
In her filing, Bonet requested joint custody of Lola and Nakoa-Wolf and did not request child support. TMZ notes that it’s safe to assume the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place, since the filing stated that separate property and assets are “agreed between the parties.”
In their joint statement released in 2020, Bonet and Momoa said, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times … A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception … feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”
They added that they were sharing the news “not because we think it’s newsworthy, but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”
“The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become,” they finished. “Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail.”
