Popular actor Bernard Nyarko has taken a swipe at so-called ‘prophets of doom’ who often pronounce negative prophecies on people.
According to the actor who is also called Bishop Nyarko, the appropriate duty of prophets and pastors is to uplift the spirit of their people.
In an interview that was sighted by YEN.com.gh, Bernard Nyarko expressed disappointment in some Ghanaian prophets. He noted that he does not understand why some prophets and preacher men put fear in people instead of inspiring them.
He further stated that prophets who often predict doom for others do not need to be recognized in society. He urged pastors to refrain from such acts and rather propagate the gospel to the followers of Jesus Christ.
Bernard Nyarko disclosed that the prophets of doom pronounce such negative prophecies, especially on celebrities because they have followers.
He said the secret behind such pronouncement about celebrities is to eventually convert the huge followers of the celebrities into loving their church.
The actor advised that it is best for prophets to approach those they have prophecies about than to publicize the issue on social media. Bernard Nyarko’s comment followed a recent pronouncement made by Prophet Nigel Gaisie of the True Word Prophetic Ministries.
According to Nigel Gaisie who was preaching in his church, a popular musician will pass on before the year ends.
Prophet Gaisie stated that he will usher some prayers for the person and try to reach out to him or her for further spiritual cleansing and protection.
The preacher man became popular after he was reported to have prophesied about the passing of the late singer Ebony. Since then, Prophet Nigel Gaisie has been making the headline in series of similar prophecies concerning celebrities.
