Kodak Black Served With Lawsuit While Behind Bars

A concert promoter says that the rapper owes him money.

When it rains, it pours, and lately, Kodak Black has been drenched. The 21-year-old rapper is currently behind bars in Florida after being arrested prior to his performance at the Miami hip hop festival Rolling Loud. This recent arrest reportedly stems from Kodak falsifying information when he attempted to purchase a firearm. His team has been working diligently to get him released on bond, but their efforts have yet to yield the result they desire. In turn, they’ve shared his prison mailing address, hoping that fans will send the rapper love as he awaits upcoming court dates.

However, not everyone is disappointed that Kodak is locked up. A concert promoter used the opportunity to serve the rapper with legal papers regarding a lawsuit that he filed against Kodak last month. According to The Blast, a man named Nicholas Fitts has accused the Florida rapper of not fulfilling his end of a contractual agreement. Fitts states that Kodak was scheduled to perform in New York on March 3, 2017, but pulled a no-show. They agreed that he would make up the show by performing a month later in April, but once again Kodak was nowhere to be found.

After failing to deliver twice, the promoter claims that they settled on a third date but that didn’t happen, either. Fitts is seeking an excess of $500,000 in damages.
