Kim Kardashian Shares Cryptic Post Amid Kanye West Battery News
Kim Kardashian posted a song with poignant lyrics to her Instagram account on Wednesday, the same day it was reported that her ex-husband, Kanye “Ye” West, was named as a suspect in a battery report.
TMZ reported that musician and fashion designer West—who has legally changed his name to Ye—was under police investigation for allegedly punching a man in the face late Tuesday night. Citing sources, the outlet reported that the man in question had allegedly grabbed or pushed West’s current wife, Bianca Censori.
While it was reported that the alleged victim did not require treatment, it was claimed in the TMZ article that police were seeking to speak with West to get his side of the story, as well as seek statements from any possible witnesses.
In response to the article, a representative of West said in a statement: “‘Grabbed’ is grossly inadequate as a description of what happened. Bianca was physically assaulted.”
“The assailant didn’t merely collide into her,” the statement continued. “He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses. She was battered and sexually assaulted.”
According to photos published by TMZ, West and Censori spent time at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, earlier on Tuesday.
Hours before the report was published, Kardashian shared an Instagram Story post that showed scenery of rolling green hills with music from Ariana Grande’s song “i wish i hated you” serving as the soundtrack.
Kardashian added no commentary to the footage, which appeared to have been taken while a vehicle was driving alongside the expansive view.
The lyrics of the ballad explore the complexities of a relationship, with Grande singing, in part: “Hung all my clothes in the closet you made / Your shoes still in boxes, I send them your way / Hoping life brings you no new pain.”
She sings in the chorus: “But no matter how I try to / And no matter how I want to /
And no matter how easy things could be if I did / And no matter how guilty I still feel saying it / I wish I hated you.”
Kardashian and West married in Florence, Italy, in May 2014. They share four children—daughters North, 10, and Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm, 4. Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021, and their union was officially dissolved in November 2022.
In 2022, West directed a number of posts at his ex-wife, ranging from lamenting the demise of their relationship to questioning her parenting over her decision to allow their eldest daughter, North, to have an account on social media platform TikTok.
Following her split from West, Kardashian embarked on a short-lived romance with comedian Pete Davidson. Meanwhile, West was linked to Italian-born Uncut Gems star Julia Fox and Brazilian model Juliana Nalú.
Several weeks after his divorce from Kardashian was finalized, it was reported that West had exchanged nuptials with Australian architect and model Censori.
