Kanye West Says All He Had to Do to Get Dr. Dre to Mix His Beats Was Make an Album for God

Kanye West is really psyched about working with Dr. Dre.

On Tuesday (Dec. 3), a video surfaced on Instagram of Kanye’s Dec. 1 Sunday Service event at Greater Emmanuel Temple Church in Lynwood, Calif. Following a stirring, gospel-heavy rendition of “Jesus Walks,” ‘Ye told attendees that he dedicated his whole life trying to make beats as good as Dr. Dre’s production. But thanks to him making his nonsecular album, Jesus Is King, he now has the legendary West Coast producer mixing his beats.

“I used to spend all my time trying to make my beats be mixed as good as Dr. Dre, who knew all I had to do was do an album for God and then Dr. Dre would start mixing my beats,” he told the crowd. “Spend your time on God and he will handle the rest.”

As previously reported on Nov. 18, Kanye and Dr. Dre are working on the sequel to Jesus Is King. Kanye used his Twitter account to make the reveal.

“Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon,” Yeezy wrote in the tweet, which featured a photo of himself and the good doctor in the studio. Dre returned the favor and posted the same image and message on his Instagram account.

There’s no word on when Jesus Is King Part II will arrive at digital stores. However, Kanye did reveal plans to drop a Jesus Is Born album on Christmas Day. The veteran producer refers to the project as his Sunday Service album.
