John Legend On College Bribery Scam: The System Is “Rigged For Wealthy People”

John Legend’s not very surprised by the controversial college bribery scam.

The recent shakedown in what’s called the biggest college bribery scandal in history has rocked the media and many of the family members related to the famous suspects like actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman. The latter, among the other 48 people involved have been sued for $500 billion collectively and according to John Legend, it’s a much “longer conversation.””I went to a good school,” John, who studied English with an emphasis on African-American literature at the University of Pennsylvania, said at the iHeartRadio Awards in Los Angeles last night. “I think it’s a longer conversation because I think a lot of people look at this rightly as fraudulent and dishonest.”

“But the bottom line is, the system has been rigged for wealthy people for a long time,” he added. “The admissions system rewards people’s parents being wealthy and people’s parents having gone to a certain school. There’s a lot of legal ways to do that that still aren’t really that fair to a lot of other people.”

John’s Wife, Chrissy Teigen, poked fun at controversy by photoshopping photos of her and John’s friends on soccer players. The photo is mocking the allegation that Lori and Felicity paid to have their daughters put on university sports teams having never played in their life. “Does this look real? we are trying to get into harvard,” she wrote alongside the images.
