Jessie James Decker Reveals Story Behind Newborn Son’s Unique Name: ‘Saw a Sweet Boy in My Dream’ (Exclusive)
The country singer and cookbook author recently welcomed her fourth baby, son Denver
Jessie James Decker is soaking up every moment as a family of six.
Last month, the country singer, 35, welcomed her fourth baby, a son named Denver, with husband Eric Decker, 36. As she’s been adjusting to life as a family of six, Jessie, who is already mom to sons Forrest, 5, and Eric, 8, as well as daughter Vivianne, 9, spoke with PEOPLE about her new collaboration with Waterloo and how things have been since welcoming her son.
“The transition from three to four [kids] has been surreal,” the newly minted mom of four shares. “A couple of nights ago, we were all sitting together in the living room as a family. I was holding Denver, and we were all just chatting and being silly together and I just had this moment where I looked at Eric and I smiled and laughed and said to him, ‘Can you believe we have four kids?'”
“We just keep pinching ourselves because it was such a beautiful surprise, and we feel so blessed to have him.”
And while all-nighters with a newborn are tough, Jessie says she “wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
“This time is so precious and short-lived and even though I’m tired, I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. It’s just us,” she says of being up at night to breastfeed Denver.
Jessie reveals that nighttime was already a special time with Denver before he was born. When she was pregnant with her fourth baby, Jessie says she had a dream about her son where she discovered his name.
“I was holding him in the dream, and he was smiling and I was calling him his name Denver,” Jessie recalls. “I woke up the next morning and in the kitchen with the family, I told everyone to be prepared because I saw a sweet boy in my dream. I was calling him Denver and I’m pretty sure it’s him!”
“The name is so special to us,” she continues. “So much meaning behind it. It’s the city we fell in love, got our first home together, got married, had our first three babies. It’s where we started our beautiful journey together. Colorado holds so many special memories for us.”

Jessie, whose second cookbook Just Eat came out in October, partnered with Waterloo to develop a few recipes inspired by some of their sparkling water flavors. “Waterloo Sparkling Water is my go-to sparkling water!” she says. “I love that they’re all about refreshing, full flavor in a better-for-you, every day drink.”
Waterloo is releasing a new flavor, Raspberry Nectarine, reintroducing Tropical Fruit and expanding the availability of Summer Berry, which are flavors that Jessie incorporated into three new recipes.
“For these Waterloo-infused recipes, I was really inspired by Waterloo’s fruit-forward flavors,” she shares. “As a busy mom of now four, I also knew I wanted to create recipes that are easy and quick to make at home that the whole family will love.”
The mom of four created Summer Berry Pancake Mini Muffins, inspired by Summer Berry, Razzy Crispy Fried Chicken & Sweet and Sour Glaze, inspired by Raspberry Nectarine, and Tropical Shrimp Mango Salad, inspired by Tropical Fruit.

“The kids have tried these recipes and given their stamp of approval — if Eric and I are eating a meal, so are they!” Jessie says. “Luckily, my kids are not picky eaters, which Eric and I feel very fortunate for.”
“Vivi, Eric and Forrest have been enjoying the Summer Berry Pancake Mini Muffins and Razzy Crispy Fried Chicken & Glaze.”
As spring quickly approaches, the family of six is looking forward to spending more time together, but this time on vacation.
“We love our spring breaks and will be headed to the beach, catching some sunshine,” Jessie tells PEOPLE. “This will be Denver’s first time at the beach, of course, and the kids are so excited.”
