Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has revealed she was sexually abused by close relations at a very young age.
She disclosed this at a media appearance at Cool FM to promote her memoir “A Toast to Life”.
According to Ibrahim, she was raped four times by her granduncle, cousin and family friend while growing up.
“I have about four different rape/molestation counts in my book. With molestation it started from from about 8 years old, that was my grand uncle. Then my cousins whom I’m really closed to. Then a couple of years later, a regular guy who has bribed my nanny to come into her house when her parents were not around,” she said.
She said despite the terrible experience she went through, she has been able to heal — thanks to her book which served as a therapy to her when writing it.
