GUNNA SHOUT-OUT SEEMINGLY REMOVED FROM LIL KEED’S ‘HOTTEST’ TRACK

Gunna and Lil Keed were tight prior to the latter’s death in 2022, however a shout-out to the “pushin P” rapper appears to have been removed from Keed’s new posthumous album.

Keed’s 20-track posthumous album Keed Talk to ‘Em 2 hit the streets last Friday (March 17) and includes a track called “Hottest” featuring Big Sean.

According to XXL, the original version of “Hottest” leaked several months ago and heard Lil Keed show Gunna some love at the end of his verse. “Leave that boy stiff like an action figure/ Me and Spider and Gunna some big drippers,” he apparently rapped.

However, in the final version of the song which can be found on Keed’s new album, the Gunna shout-out has been mysteriously removed and replaced with a blank space.

It’s unclear what caused the change, but there could be a chance the decision was linked to Gunna’s plea deal in the YSL RICO case and subsequent admissions in court, which seemingly strained his relationship with other affiliates of the label led by Young Thug.

HipHopDX has reached out to YSL reps for comment on the alleged changes to the new track.

Shortly after being released from jail, Gunna’s return to social media caused a bit of a stir after he shouted out Lil Keed, causing Lil Gotit — the brother of Lil Keed, who passed away last May — to speak out.

Lil Gotit went as far as to unfollow Gunna on Instagram, and seemed to reply to his tweet on his Instagram Story. “N-ggas needa stop that cap,” Gotit wrote, before adding in a follow-up Story: “Don’t call me Twin.”

Gunna has found himself mixed up in all kinds of controversy since pleading guilty and subsequently being released from jail.

Most recently, his anti-snitch lyrics have been used against him after a fan compiled a viral video to clown the rapper for pleading out in the RICO case.

Last December, Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) was released from jail following his guilty plea to a racketeering conspiracy charge. He was sentenced to five years with one year served due to the time he spent behind bars after being arrested last May — this was part of the sweeping indictment against YSL, which prosecutors allege is a “criminal street gang.”

The DS4Ever rapper has faced an onslaught of snitching allegations since pleading out. However, he’s insisted from day one that he didn’t snitch on anyone.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” Gunna said in a statement at the time of his release from jail.

Despite these claims, fans have continued to troll Gunna for taking any sort of plea deal, especially as his YSL leader Young Thug is still in jail awaiting trial.
