Gerry Turner’s daughter calls out fan ‘rage and cruelty’ after Golden Bachelor divorce
My Dad and Theresa are kind, good people that made this decision for them, no one else,” Angie says.
The daughter of Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner is not here for anything negative being said about her father and Theresa Nist’s divorce.
Turner’s daughter Angie shared a message on her Instagram on Wednesday calling out the “rage and cruelty our family has been met with” after Turner and Nist announced their split after only three months of marriage.
“It’s no surprise the news of my Dad and Theresa choosing to split has sparked a range of emotions and opinions,” Angie wrote in the caption. “I love how invested people were in the show, what an experience to have you along for the ride!”
She continued, “What has been disheartening is the level of rage and cruelty that our family has been met with. My Dad and Theresa are kind, good people that made this decision for them, no one else. I kindly urge everyone to remember that behind every story, there are real people with real feelings.”
Angie ended her message by thanking “all those that have chosen to show my dad, Theresa and our family love and compassion.”

Turner and Nist’s wedding was the ABC series’ first ever senior bachelor nuptials, and aired live on ABC on Jan. 4. The couple announced their split on Good Morning America earlier this month. “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Turner said.
He also said that he still loves Nist, while Nist explained that their inability to agree on where they would make a home together was a large factor in the split. “We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at homes after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision,” she said.
