FUTURE REPORTEDLY WORKING ON ‘DIRTY SPRITE 3’
Future has been hard at work in the studio and is reportedly plotting his next album as the anticipated Dirty Sprite 3.
While Pluto himself hasn’t spoken on the matter, a pair of Freebandz artists in his childhood friend Young Scooter and Doe Boy raised hype around DS3 over the weekend.
“#DIRTYSPRITE3,” Scooter posted to his Instagram Story with a series of zipper mouth emojis. Doe Boy added to the hysteria by tweeting out the album title as well, which he’s since deleted.
Doe Beezy attempted to put out the social media fire and calm down fans with their hopes high in a follow-up tweet on Monday (May 22): “DS3 not dropping no time soon.”
Although it’s unclear what’s next for Future on the album side, 2023 appears to be a busy year for the Atlanta superstar. Last week. Hendrix hopped on Toosii’s “Favorite Song,” which he’s dubbed to be the “toxic version” of the track.
Toosii has been in the studio with Future multiple times since 2022, and spoke to HipHopDX late last year about what the experience was like for him.
“Being in the studio with someone like Future you just gotta soak up the game and knowledge,” Toosii said. When asked if it was at all intimidating to be sharing studio space with some of his idols, Toosii was confident yet honest.
“Nah, cause I grew up with my idols,” he replied. “My idols was my brother and my dad. I never really idolized nobody else outside of them. I idolize the people that I love and the people I was with every day. So I’ve never really been the type of person to idolize those outside my home. But, being around such successful and hardworking artists is a different feeling. It shows you how successful you can be if you just stay consistent.”
Zaytoven also teased the third installment of Beast Modewith a coinciding trailer on May 1. “SOONER THAN YOU THINK,” the producer captioned the teaser.
DS2 arrived in the midst of Future’s ascension to global phenom as the project earned him his first No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 in July 2015. Dirty Sprite 2 moved 151,000 total album units in the first week to take the top spot.
