Movie producer Kobi Rana in an Instagram post has fired shots at the founder of the Ghana Movie Awards, Fred Nuamah. He shared the trailer of one of his latest movies titled ‘My Name is Ramadan’ which features dancehall artist Stonebowy as one of its characters.
But it’s the caption which caught our attention. Strongly worded and dripping with emotions, Kobi says although his movies are always nominated Fred and his cronies at the Ghana Movie Awards find ways to thwarts his efforts.
He wrote, “This year, this is one of Africa’s best movie and acting performances. The movie title: My Name Is Ramadan. I was told Fred Nuamah and his friends are having their awards.
Ask him why this movie and chaskele were submitted but never reached the jury. The hate that made him nominate me 15 times and give me nothing is the same hate that made him throw our submissions away. I have one message for Fred and his friends. I AM GIFTED AND LIFTED. YOU CAN’T TOUCH THAT.”
Kobi Rana also tagged some actors and actress in the industry whom he claimed were very much aware of this diabolic acts. This list includes Kafui Danku, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Prince David Osei, Jackie Appiah and Kalsoume, who according to him know about everything.
I haven’t watched the movies in question but if the trailer is anything to go by, then it looks good. Hopefully, industry persons resolve this brewing animosity between the two parties. So that our movie industry would grow rather than divide.
