A driver of a container truck is believed to have attempted bribing the Police on the War Against Indiscipline team on the Adenta-Dodowa road with GHc10 when he was stopped by police.
Kwaku Poku was stopped by Corporal Vincent Afrani and ordered to produce his license.
He, however, produced a license booklet with GHc10.00 in it.
Citi News understands the license the driver produced had expired.
The driver, who spoke to Citi News, denied trying to bribe the police and insisted that the money was in the licence booklet before he was stopped by the police.
“The money was in long before… it wasn’t that the police asked for the licence and I added the money. The money is my chop money.”
He also said part of the money was to be used to pay a road toll.
In all, 23 errant drivers were arrested and processed for court on the Adenta-Dodowa road.
Most of the arrested persons were not carrying valid driving licenses, according to police.
Among these arrests, a driver in a Ghana Immigration Service vehicle was caught driving against traffic with his sirens blaring.
After an initial command signalling the driver of the vehicle to park, some of the Police officers allowed the Immigration Vehicle to carry on because it was on a sensitive operation.
A driver of a delivery pick up for the Graphic Communications Group Limited was also arrested.
