A man who’s been masquerading as Drake at night clubs and various other spots has perhaps depleted his 15 minutes of fame. According to a post from Akademiks, “Izzy Drake” — as he’s widely known on the internet — was banned from Instagram over the weekend for impersonating the Toronto rap star.
The posts reads, “Fake Drake Was Banned From Instagram For Impersonating Drake!” Akademiks added in the caption, “Nah don’t tell me even Instagram was sick of it.” Akademiks wasn’t alone in his sentiments. A choir of “hallelujahs” soon flooded the post with comments such as, “THANK YOU GOD HE GET UNDER MY SKIN SUPER CORNY I GET THE HUSTLE BUT HE DOING TOO MUCH” and “He was doing too much so Drake got his shit outta here.”

The last post the Drake impersonator posted was an Instagram Live clip of himself demanding a OVO Sound deal from Drake — only if he was able to beat the 6 God in a celebrity boxing match. As he said in the clip, “Yo yo yo, it’s your boy Izzy Drake … you already know we outside. I just signed with Celebrity Boxing.
“August 27, I’m calling Drake out for a friendly boxing match. If I win, you gotta sign me to OVO and you gotta give me a million dollars. If you win, I’ll change my name.”
Again, the comment section erupted with negative comments from people who didn’t quite understand why “Izzy Drake” seems to be going overboard. Some called for a mental health evaluation, while others were simply glad he was removed from the platform.
