Drake Confirms He’ll Be Touring In 2023

Drake has promised to stay busy in 2023, doubling down on his claims that he will be going on tour next year.

On Saturday (December 17), during a live-stream interview with online betting and gambling website Stake, Drizzy appeared to be overwhelmed with excitement to hit the road and go on tour in 2023 — considering he last hit the road in 2018 with Migos for the Drake & The Three Migos Live Tour.

While discussing his plans for his upcoming live shows, Drake remarked on how much more rewarding touring is than releasing music, despite the fact he’s delivered two Billboard 200 No. 1 albums this year between Honestly Nevermind and 21 Savage collaborative LP Her Loss.

“Tour. Ah, man, I can’t wait,” he said in response to his plans for 2023. “You know, it’s so unfortunate. The other day I was rehearsing a bunch of days and one of the shows got pushed back. But yeah, man, I’m just looking forward to going. It’s like one thing to make the music but to see it is the most gratifying feeling.”

Drake has recently been up against some unforeseen circumstances and apparent production delays which have caused his plans to close out 2022 with some exclusive concert experiences to be delayed.

Originally set for November 11, Drake’s Apollo Theater show got pushed back in honor of deceased Migos rapper TakeOff’s memorial services. Then, after the show was rescheduled for back-to-back dates December 8 and 9, production delays were purportedly the cause of yet another delay leading to the exclusive two-night live performance being rescheduled to January 21 and 22 of 2023.

It’s not hard to understand why Drake is so hyped to hit the road, either, as the OVO mogul is in the midst of a record-breaking run which is solidifying him as one of the best-selling solo artists of all time. Drake was recently crowned the highest certified singles artist in RIAA history, eclipsing fellow commercial juggernaut Eminem.

Drizzy earned 10 new plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America on December 8, taking his total to 184 million singles sold.

That figure pushes Drake past Eminem, who was previously awarded the distinction in March after achieving 166 million units for his singles catalog. Drizzy’s historic RIAA haul includes two diamond certifications for “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance,” commemorating at least 10 million units in the U.S. Drake is now the third artist in history to score at least five diamond singles.
