Doja Cat Really Grabs ‘Attention’ In Music Video For New Single
Doja Cat’s new single “Attention” is finally here. The singer/raptress unleashed the song on Friday, June 16 along with its official music video, just days after she teased the track through her social media.
In the visuals, the 27-year-old can be seen driving past a crowd of people who are screaming for her. Other scenes show the artist walking down the sidewalks of Downtown L.A. as she delivers her bars.
As the video transitions, Doja shows up wearing nothing but being covered with blood as she stands on the sidewalk. During the scene, she spits, “Look at me, look at me, I’m naked.”
Doja goes on rapping, “Vulnerability earned me a lot of bacon/ I put a thong all in my a** and taught you how to shake it.” She adds, “I paid all my respect to those who taught me how to make it/ And now I reap the benefits with no confrontation/ Y’all fall into beef, but that’s another conversation.”
“Attention” serves as the lead single of Doja’s fourth studio album. It also marks her first solo release since her 2021 album, “Planet Her”, which climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
As for her upcoming studio record, Doja teased last month, “its not called hEllMoUth either its called ‘First of All.’ ” She continued, “And yes I’m announcing the album title right now.”
Back in April, Doja declared that she won’t make pop music in the future because pop “isn’t exciting” anymore to her. “no more pop…i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are,” she tweeted at the time. “I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”
