Doing profane songs like Ebony won’t help you – Mr Logic to female artistes

Head of Ghana Association of Songwriters, popularly known as Mr Logic, has advised up-and-coming female musicians not to learn from the legacy of late dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns if they want to be successful.

Born Emmanuel Barnes, he noted that the sudden trend of female acts inserting profane words into their songs to make them blow is worrying.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Mr Logic charged the current crop of female musicians to emulate the likes of Adina and MzVee, but not Ebony explaining “if you come clean you will blow.”

“Adina and MzVee don’t do nude or profane, but they’re big! [To blow], it’s about your talent, delivery and passion for music.

“You don’t need to go nude. Ebony made it with that style. She was a great singer but her projection wasn’t proper. I don’t expect you ladies to tow that line,” he advised.

Mr Logic wants emerging female acts to “create their own lane and be in it” to be successful.
