Diddy has starred as an intimidating music executive in a new Uber commercial that is set to debut at Super Bowl LVII on February 12.
In the commercial, the Bad Boy boss communicates via an equally-as-intimidating henchman, who proceeds to inform the Uber executives in their office that “Diddy don’t do jingles.”
“So, we’re thinking a song could really put Uber One on the map,” the executive says, referring to Uber’s new all-inclusive membership.
“Diddy don’t do jingles,” the henchmen replies.
However, the mogul’s mood visibly changes when the executives begin referring to their sought-after “jingle” as a “hit.”
“Diddy does do hits,” the henchman rebukes. “Diddy is excited.”
“Meet me at the studio,” Diddy finally says, cracking a smile.
Diddy isn’t the only Hip Hop star set to appear in one of this year’s Super Bowl ads. Cardi B and Offset were spotted filming a McDonald’s spot in January, while Missy Elliott and Jack Harlow have teased their involvement in a Dorito’s commercial.
While this year’s commercials appear to be stacked with celebrities, the big draw of Super Bowl LVII remains Rihanna’s upcoming halftime show, which will serve as the Fenty mogul’s first major performance since the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
On the music side of things, Diddy returned to his hitmaking ways in 2022, closing out the year with a new song called “Sex In The Porsche” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR. He also dropped off his Bryson Tiller-assisted radio hit “Gotta Move On” in May and followed it up with a Teyana Taylor-directed video soon after.
Both tracks serve as early previews of Puff’s forthcoming album, Off the Grid Vol. 1, which will be his fifth studio effort and first since 2006’s Press Play.
The project will also be his debut release under Love Records, the R&B label he launched last year in partnership with Motown Records.
“Music has always been my first love, Love Records is the next chapter is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life,” Diddy said in a statement at the time. “For the label, I’m focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”
The Harlem native also welcomed a sixth child before the year was up, which led many to speculate about the status of his relationship with Yung Miami. But on her REVOLT talk show Caresha Please, the City Girls star said she knew about the baby before she was born.
“I think communication is the key. I feel like when you dealing with somebody communication is the key. It wasn’t a surprise,” she told G Herbo, who was the episode’s guest.
The couple recently co-starred in Puff’s “Diddy Freestyle” video, which samples the Leon Haywood song that Dr. Dre famously flipped on his 1992 hit “Nuthin’ But a G Thang.”
