Cam’ron Sues J. Cole Over “Ready ’24” Collaboration Dispute
Cam’ron has filed a lawsuit against J. Cole, accusing the rapper of breaking an agreement tied to their 2022 collaboration on the track “Ready ’24.” According to court documents, Cam’ron claims the two artists reached a deal where J. Cole would either appear on his and Ma$e’s sports talk show *It Is What It Is* or collaborate on a future project in exchange for Cam’ron’s contribution to the song.
Cam’ron alleges he delivered his part of the arrangement but that J. Cole failed to follow through on his promise. The Harlem rapper is now asking the court to declare him a co-author of “Ready ’24,” which would give him a share of royalties and credit for his involvement. The lawsuit also seeks compensation for financial losses he says were caused by Cole’s actions.
As of now, J. Cole has not publicly responded to the lawsuit or issued any statement. The track “Ready ’24” appeared on J. Cole’s surprise project *Might Delete Later*, which dropped earlier this year. The project came ahead of his anticipated album *The Fall Off*, which fans have been waiting on since 2018.
The legal battle adds new tension to what had seemed like a friendly connection between the two rappers. While Cam’ron has remained active through his talk show and business ventures, J. Cole continues to make headlines with his music and public appearances. The case could potentially impact the rights and earnings from the track moving forward.
