YouTube in its latest “Artist Spotlight Stories” series shed light on Burna Boy’s rise to international success from a humble beginning.
From borrowing beats off video games to producing earth-shattering afro-beat anthems, the film revisits his journey from his Nigerian upbringing to taking root in Brixton.
The 18-minute documentary, produced by YouTube Music, was launched at an exclusive watch party recently and tells the story of the rise of AfroBeats and the role YouTube has played, through Burna Boy’s eyes.
Directed by Maceo Frost, the spotlight reflects on Ogulu’s inspiration as a songwriter and celebrates his energy as a performer.
