Anna Chlumsky Gushes Over ‘Amazing’ Bond with Bride Hard Costar Anna Camp – Anna Chlumsky made a bestie on the set of her latest movie.
While promoting her Apple TV+ series Smoke at the Tribeca Festival in New York City, the actress, 44, told PEOPLE about her friendship with Anna Camp that blossomed while filming their new comedy Bride Hard.
“I adore Anna Camp,” Chlumsky says of her costar. “We’re a little in love and it’s kind of amazing.”

The actress continues to praise her other Bride Hard costars, including Rebel Wilson, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Gigi Zumbado. “I mean, it was a blast. It was so much fun,” she notes of her filming experience. “I got to bring my family for a lot of it because it was in the summer. It was a good time and I think anybody who sees it should see that.”
Bride Hard stars Wilson as secret agent Sam, who is a bridesmaid at her best friend’s wedding. She is thrown into work when a team of mercenaries crash the party and take the guests hostage.
The action-comedy also marks an onscreen reunion for Pitch Perfect costars Wilson and Camp.
As for the Inventing Anna star, she shares that she and Camp go way back, but the movie has brought their relationship to a new level. “We knew each other before,” the actress explains. “We were audition buddies.” However, since filming the movie, she now says she “adores” Camp.

Chlumsky, who plays a bridesmaid in the comedy, switches gears for her role in the new series Smoke. In the show, also starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett, she plays a member of law enforcement involved with investigating a string of arsons.
On the topic of balancing the different types of projects, the actress says, “I love that I can play in so many different sandboxes. It’s just something that my training affords me to do.”
As for preparing for the two parts, the Veep alum explains that she approaches comedic and dramatic material “in exactly the same way.”
“We’re just telling stories and it happens to be the writing that makes it funny or not,” she says.
Bride Hard is now in theaters; Smoke‘s first two episodes are streaming on Apple TV+.
