Ali Krieger reveals she is dating someone new after ‘devastating’ Ashlyn Harris divorce

Ali Krieger is dating again after her “devastating” divorce.

The professional soccer player gushed about the “wonderful person” she is with, whom she “really, really like[s]” on Wednesday’s “She Pivots” podcast.

“I’m so grateful that we met,” the athlete, 39, said without identifying her partner, calling the “timing … really great because [she] gave [her]self time” before moving on from ex-wife Ashlyn Harris.

“Eight, nine months down the road has now given me time to grieve and to sort through all those feelings,” Krieger explained.

News broke in October 2023 that the athlete and Harris, 38, had called it quits after nearly four years of marriage, with Krieger finding out that her estranged wife had filed for divorce while she was “in the locker room.”

Krieger has been “licking [her] wounds” and “digging deeper into [her]self” ever since.

The defender, who “never wanted” to split from Harris, clarified that she was “willing to fight” for their marriage.

“I really did love what we had. And I really loved her and our kids,” she continued, referencing son Sloane, 3, and daughter Ocean, 1.

After their breakup, Krieger turned her “sadness … grief, hurt and pain” into a “controlled energy” on the field to win the NWSL Championship in November 2023.

“I just put all my focus into the team, and they put all their focus into me,” she told listeners. “They knew what it meant to me to end on top. And I am so grateful for them.”

Krieger did not speak about Harris’ new romance with “One Tree Hill” alum Sophia Bush during the episode.

When her brother, Kyle Krieger, hinted that Harris had cheated in an Instagram comment last year, Ali’s ex released a statement confirming she did not “step out.”

“I was always faithful in my marriage, if not always totally happy,” Harris wrote in response to “brutal” backlash. “I’d appreciate if you could take a breath and treat me and my family with some humanity.”

Bush, who came out as queer in an April Glamour essay, explained on her “Work in Progress” podcast last week that she was the one to ask Harris out since neither had considered the other an “option” to date.

“I always thought you were straight!” the actress, 42, recalled Harris saying, to which Bush replied, “I always thought you were happy. But, like, we’re both single. What are we doing?”
