FRANK OCEAN CLEARS UP ‘THESE DAYS’ LYRICS CONFUSION AFTER SONG LEAKS

Frank Ocean has cleared up his lyrics for “These Days” following the song leaking.

The unreleased track, which is said to have been recorded back in 2018 for Frank’s long-awaited Blonde follow-up, surfaced online in early May after reportedly being purchased for $6,200 from a leaker.

Instagram account OCD VS THE WORLD posted a lyric video for the song a week after it leaked, with Frank Ocean then coming across the post and jumping into the comments section to confirm the actual lyrics.

“Told you I would put your figure near my lung heart was racing on a rush was it fun when it was fun jaw clenching on a tablet I was numb armored windows don’t roll down like factory ones I don’t drink but what I’m thinking give me buzz give me buzz,” he wrote, correcting some of the words that were featured in the video.

“You say fuck me then go fuck her but you blush got priorities in life that I disrupt so back to turning my 8 figures up back to turning lil figures up if I’m on it I’ll see 10 when I’m young .. young.”

According to Genius, “These Days” was pressed on vinyl and sent out to less than 10 people as a replacement for “Little Demon,” whose own vinyl release was ultimately cancelled.

But Frank’s team reportedly ended up scrapping “These Days” and instead released his 2016 visual album Endless on vinyl.

Another song from the R&B singer’s vaults also leaked last month, the Rosalía-assisted “Changes,” which was accompanied by a shelved music video that features cameos from A$AP Rocky, slowthai, Navy Blue and others.

As for his authorized output, Frank Ocean recently revealed he was working on a new album during his polarizing performance at Coachella in April.

“It’s been so long. Everybody talks about how long it’s been. ‘It’s been so long, it’s been so long.’ But I have missed you,” he said. “I want to talk about why I’m here, because it’s not because of a new album. It’s because — not that there’s not a new album… but there’s not right now. Chill, chill, chill. No, it’s not right now.”

“These last couple years, my life changed so much,” he added while reflecting on the death of his younger brother Ryan Breaux. “My brother and I, we came to this festival a lot, and I feel like I was dragged out here half the time because I hated the dust out here. I always left with a respiratory infection or whatever, so I would avoid coming, but I would always end up here.

“One of my fondest memories was watching Rae Sremmurd with my brother and Travis [Bennett]. We were just dancing in that tent to their music… I know he would’ve been so excited to be here with all of us, and I want to say thank you for the support and the ears and the love over all this time.”
